What is it?

NAVE is an open innovation program of the ANP (Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels) funded with resources from the Research, Development & Innovation clause of oil and natural gas exploration & production contracts.

The nine energy companies participating in the first edition of NAVE are: Petrogal Brasil, TotalEnergies, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), Shell, ExxonMobil, Equinor, Repsol Sinopec, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), and Petrobras.

Following the technical cooperation agreement signed with the ANP and published on December 31, 2024, in the Official Gazette of the Union, the IBP (Brazilian Institute of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels) became the administrative and financial manager of NAVE.

 

What is the goal?

📈To foster startups and new business models;

💡To stimulate entrepreneurship;

⚙️To promote innovation for common challenges in the energy sector;

🤝To encourage companies in the supply chain;

🤖To develop technology in priority areas;

💬To induce cooperation between ICTs and startups.

First edition of NAVE in numbers:

✅261 valid registrations, 85% of challenges (57 out of 67) addressed;

✅18 states from 5 Brazilian regions;

➡️ 21 selected startups that will work on 19 challenges;

✅The macro-theme “M3 – Technologies in digital transformation” registered the highest number of valid registrations (104).
